The Marangu Route uses hut accommodation and follows a steady ascent from rainforest to summit. Climbers pass through Mandara, Horombo, and Kibo huts, with an optional acclimatization day at Horombo. The summit attempt begins at midnight from Kibo Hut and descends via the same route. This is the only route offering overnight shelter in huts.
